Medieval Towns

Located between the Périgord Noir and the Périgord Pourpre, the Country of Wall-Towns and Medieval Towns will appeal to you in many ways: the richness of its medieval heritage, the diversity of its natural leisure and activities, the quality of the accommodation, the variety of its gastronomy, the savoir-faire of its craftsmen, its numerous animations… and the warmth of its inhabitants!

Farm and handicraft markets

It is within the wonderful medieval village of ISSIGEAC that is held one of the most beautiful farm and handicraft markets of the region, where local inhabitants themselves enjoy going to every Sunday. In summertime, you shall be walking alongside a cosmopolite and friendly crowd, around colourful and plentiful stalls displaying the best fruits and vegetables of local producers. Handicrafts are also present and you shall find original and interesting objects.

The vineyards of Bergerac encompass 93 villages and more than 12 000 hectares producing 13 AOC wines (Bergerac, Monbazillac, Montravel, Pécharmant, Rosette, Saussignac). You can also taste those wines on the various cellars and châteaux of the region.
